*Alleged Attack on Oyo Sports Journalist*The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Oyo State Chapter is genuinely concerned and committed to the welfare of all Sports Journalists in the state and has therefore shown interests in the alleged attack on a sports journalist working for Pensioners FM in Ibadan Mr Tolulope Raymond.

As a matter of fact, Oyo SWAN leadership led by Mr Niyi Alebiosu has swung into action and commenced investigations into the allegation. Also upon our demands, the Ibadan Football Association and the Management of 3SC are also probing the incident with a view to ensuring that justice is done.

However, while we are seeking redress for our aggrieved colleague, we will not support the attempt of some outlaws to use this matter to settle personal score.

These renegades, who have been suspended by the Nigeria Union of Journalists for disobedience to National Secretariat, want to exploit Mr Raymond's grievances to rubbish the works of some sports administrators who refused to grant them the impossible favour they sought.

We therefore implore all bonafide sports journalists to disregard the antics of the impostors using the name of SWAN to feather their own nest.

In inference, we the leaders of Oyo SWAN under Niyi Alebiosu are pledging that we will not abandon our responsibilities or allow any of our members to suffer harassment or intimidation while discharging their official duties.

We appealed to genuine sports journalists in Oyo state to exercise patience and allow us to deal with the matter in a satisfactory manner to prevent rancour between between journalists and other stakeholders.
