Doma United Appoint Experienced NPFL Tactician Deji Ayeni as Head Coach

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Doma United have announced the appointment of seasoned football tactician Deji Ayeni as their new head coach ahead of the forthcoming league campaign.

The Savannah Tigers have moved swiftly to strengthen their technical department as they prepare for life in the NPFL, entrusting Ayeni with the responsibility of leading the club's quest for stability and success in Nigeria's top flight.

Ayeni arrives at Doma United with a wealth of experience in Nigerian football, having previously managed clubs such as Sunshine Stars, Akwa United, Crown FC and Enyimba. His reputation for building competitive teams and developing young talents makes him one of the most respected coaches in the domestic league.

One of his biggest achievements came with Sunshine Stars, where he successfully guided the Akure-based side away from relegation danger before earning a move to Akwa United. At Akwa United, Ayeni recorded impressive results and was named NPFL Coach of the Month in April 2022 after overseeing a strong run of performances.

According to available managerial records, Ayeni managed 33 league matches with Sunshine Stars and 37 matches with Akwa United, posting points-per-game averages above 1.5 during both spells, highlighting his ability to deliver consistent results in the NPFL.

Speaking after his appointment, Ayeni expressed delight at joining Doma United and promised to build a competitive squad capable of holding its own against the country's biggest clubs.

"I am honoured to be part of this ambitious project. Doma United have shown great desire to succeed, and together with the players, management and supporters, we will work hard to achieve our objectives," Ayeni said.

Doma United's management believes the appointment of the experienced coach signals the club's determination to establish itself as a strong force in the NPFL. The club's supporters will be hoping Ayeni's tactical expertise and league experience can guide the team to a successful campaign and secure their place among Nigeria's elite clubs.

With preparations already underway, expectations are high that the partnership between Doma United and Deji Ayeni will usher in a new era of progress and competitiveness for the Savannah Tigers.
