Who is OKECHUKWU C PROMISE?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Okechukwu Chukwuyem Promise is a young lad from Delta State, base in delta as well, dad is from delta state and my mom from cross river state though they are both dead now...

From a family of 4 siblings am the last..

Am a graduate of Geology from Delta State University...

But I really don't see much into my B. SC degree now..

Am fully into my God's giving talent and career which is football..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

How did OKECHUKWU C PROMISE start his football career?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Thanks to God for the gift of life and the talent giving to me... God have always been faithful..

I started just like every other young professional and young aspiring talents I would say.

I started playing street football, and was so difficult for me cause my family really wanted my 100% focus in my academics, received all sorts of beating and so on but gradually I went in my primary school team from there I grew into the secondary school team...

This faithful day I went to coach the female sec school team in a public field named Ughelli General Field but now Cassidy Place ground, so the team training there, the coach decide to play the girls with his un15 so I played with the girls against the team(fc planners) after the game the coach was like take me to your parents I want to register you in my team.. I was so scared told him sir it won't work o... Cos my family wants my total focus in my education. After that he kept on pushing anytime he sees me in the field he kept telling me to take him to my parents... On this faithful day he traced my down to my house and approach my approached my parents as God may have it, it was a success... So eventually I joined the team. From there I was invited for a trial with Aspira football academy I was among the first set in Nigeria to attend that academy in Lagos we were 50 invited players all over the country.. I made the 22 man list in the final phase as the captain of the team B... But did make the final 4 that was in 2007

So I went back home with the zonal coordinator.

As days go I get more strong and strong by the grace of God I was approached by MFM church in ughelli to follow them to Ogun state their HQ for an international tour, I told my coach and he went to my parents and discussed with them.. they agreed

After that tournament and academy scout took my to Lagos State to join Brazilian Football Academy (BFut academy)

There I was trained with all necessary basis in football and was selected for a tour in Qatar... That's same year I got admitted into Delta State University.. it's was a big challenge for me.. I spoke with Coach Joe Erico about the two, and His advice was am still young I should go get a degree it's will help me career as well.. my dad gave me an option option to decide for my self,So finally I decided to take the admission, then I joined the school team in my second year... It's wasn't really easily with football and geology at same time.. but the school coach kept encouraging me Mr Bob Tosan Blankson. In my third year a scout located me and gave my a trial on Sri Lanka with Colombo fc I went the but after everything it wasn't successful. I came back and that year I lost my dad... It's wasn't really easy but all thanks to God.

Later I was invited to the state festival team I was with them but the national festival didn't hold that year...

As God may have it's I graduated from delsu and final went back home planning of continue my football career.

One faithful morning I was told about a trial in ughelli township stadium.. I went there behold the head coach Mr Onigbe Felix was same person who coached me in the state team for the national festival.

On seeing me he was like you live here I said yes.. immediately tomorrow morning I want to see you in this field by 7am that was he statement

Eventually I went there it's was an NNLO team delta stars. I mad the final trials and was registered in the team.. the I was even serving the nation on my NYSC program.. but God saw me try and was redeployed from Afikpo to delta.

It's been God all this long... Thanks to the Almighty Creator,That's was the start of my league career..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

IN which year did you joined DELTA STARS and Your impact with the club?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well I joined them in 2016,

And my impact I Was fully recognized... I even captained some matches and my impact was fully felt in the entire league... Even when our coach was changed in the second year, they brought in Mr Larry Eteli a very big profiled coach who was with one of the team we played against in Port Harcourt Garden city partherns. When he came he was like I don't need to watch you again have seen you already I was even thinking of how I can get you to me team... Even last year when he was the coach of bayelsa United before the start of the league he invited me to Bayelsa United but I have to leave cause I got a trial in Cyprus. I really served the team (delta stars) very well When we promoted to NNL we were a bit down during the first round and after some issues in our state fa cup finals with J Atete the technical crew was changes and the management, before then I was invited to remo stars by Mr Lateef the sporting director as he inteeoduced himself to me.. but I had injury against Dynamite of Benin so I could not go but the two other players when in person of Akimini and Ndah Olisa he's a big player now I must saw currently with Akwa United even captained the home based eagles,

Delta stars was later disband cause of financial problems in 2019..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

For Delta stars how many App and Goal did you have?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well I had 25 appearances with 11goals.

*EMMZYSPORTS*

Your journey to your next club let's know?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

WARRI WOLVES in 2019*

*EMMZYSPORTS*

Your journey to WARRI WOLVES let's know?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well after delta stars management was changed in the first round they brought new management and technical crew.. I had a very good relationship with the coaches and a bit fair with the chairman in person of Mr Etu Moses.

After the end of the season he shortlisted 15 players he was gonna take with him to warri wolves, after he was appointed the CEO my name was among. But immediately after the season I got invited by Rivers United coach Mr Stanley Eguma and was later dropped then I went back to Delta force who had invited me after a friendly game long before Rivers but I wanted a good and better platform and team welfare, was with them not until I got a call from my former coach Mr Larry Eteli to Bayelsa United though Delta Force was a premier team and Bayelsa an NNL team, but due to the respect I have for him and our good relationship I honoured his invitation but could not stay cause I had my invitation from Cyprus Girne Halk Evi. But it didn't work out well so when I came back last January I had to call the coach cause he was presently the coach of Warri wolves as at then.. but he said call chairman so I did and he was like are you sure you're ready to play for me cause I won't take any act of indiscipline so i told him am back to Nigeria and willing to play for him so he said I can resume with the team, that was how I joined warri wolves with the aid of the chairman Mr Etu Moses..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

Your relationship with coach Larry etelli let's know?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

It's so much a father and son thing... Any of my coach can speak of that.. from;

Coach Kennedy Adje

Coach Tosan Bob Blankson

Coach Felix Onigbe

Coach Peter Nieketien

Coach Larry Eteli

Coach Powerful and many others they can attest to the fact that I always give my 100% loyalty to Coaches...

*EMMZYSPORTS*

Your take on Delta stars management?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well The management was good, the management were ready to work but the state government was totally bad. for a whole season in the first year we was paid just 3months.

Second season was 4months and the NNL season which was 2018 and the year the club was disband we were paid just 4 months.

It's was clear the management was good but the state government was totally poor

Like of Moses Etu he knows so much about the politics in football general he has his own was of doing things but he didn't get the full back up from the state government especially on finances..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

Your take on WARRI WOLVES management?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well Was good with the management but there was no funds to work as they really wanted to... Now the team is suffering even before I left..

Even some player like the squad that relegated the team the are still asking for their owed salaries and all that..

We promoted warri wolves last year's with a very poor welfare package from the state.. but with the encouragement from the management and the technical crew we managed to gain the npfl ticket by God on our side and the experience of our chairman Mr Moses Etu,But believe me delta state government is not doing well at all..

*EMMZYSPORTS*

You travel to 2 different countrys for trial , let's know the reason y u didn't make the trial?

*OKECHUKWU C PROMISE*

Well For the first in Sri Lanka was negotiation issues the agent ande then manager

And in North Cyprus it's was all about profile. The team invited me but the later took Lualua ahead of me saying he's a big player and so on...

Have also been to Burkina faso, ASFA the coach told me to my face that he's not good with English player he can't work with me.. I was so angry like the agent who brought me doesn't know about this! Then why this waste of time.... I almost loss my space in delta stars cause of that it was in 2018 but my coach Mr Larry Eteli covered me up so I hold that man in a very high esteem..
